Though I don't know what happened, but I was have a computer which is able to enable GPU computing but it always end with failure because the gpu has no support for double precision float point computing. Maybe you can try to disable your graphics card (if possible) and see what happened. I would think this make sense is because gpu computing usaully faster then cpu computing unless you are using an very old card with new high end cpu......
