I guess that I expected Boinc to install and run within the Virtualbox environment, possibly under some contrived or common lightweight operating system. It looks like it's no such animal. So why bother to download Virtualbox in the same .msi? It's going to take some system know-how to install a VM, and again to install Boinc within that. I do not shy from that, but there is no note ahead of or concurrent with the download that the loading into Virtualbox is a separate set of operations. Am I missing something?
2) Message boards : Questions : Virtualbox & Boinc (Message 386) Posted 4 Apr 2020 by ITgreybeard Post: So I downloaded the combined VirtualBox and Boinc combo. Each installed separately, as far as I can tell. Boinc seems to run in the host O/S, not in VirtualBox. So what was all that for?
