Just in here for the first time by using such an Account Manager, so perhaps I could be wrong. So here I was thinking that an Account Manager was for handling separate projects under BOINC already attached to, but apparently not so. Rather I am getting new or other tasks based on the selected Preferences or those I chose to tick when attaching. Therefore I created an account here on the server first, and next used BOINC Manager for logging in following. If I happen to run separate projects still under BOINC Manager, should they be also visible here when such an Account Manager is separate from BOINC? My guess is that the BOINC server itself is rather old, so therefore the servers for the Account Manager being a replacement for this server. |

And here that someone at BOINC or PrimeGrid could kick the servers or afford me a suggestion to the download problem. It does not really matter but my UserID with this project becomes 12041 for not having any credit here. So here attaching to an Account Manager became a failure of doing, and I should rather leave it to factoring instead for only having a Core i5 laptop. My credit only becomes versus the Account Manager for that of project, and not any individual for counting instead. The tasks coming with that above becomes for also running factorization tasks by means of DOS, so here becoming overcommitted. In addition, that the projects become separate for the Projects tab in BOINC Manager and confuses me with the tasks themselves. I better should suspend the tasks for any finished first and next detach from Science United following that. Really that such Account Managers are not for any good use or purpose when only a single user. One question for still having time, but if I suspend a project in BOINC Manager, will it still continue downloading a task? |

I meant solution and not suggestion, but here feeling tempted to just abort everything except NFS@home, which is a single project. This not working any good at all, for already knowing from before. Thereafter is still not any following, except only time. |

I have PrimeGrid as a ScienceUnited project. My i5 laptop is running a 12 threads task. So far so good but on the Notice label of the BOINC task manager I get a message that a private message was sent to me. I cannot read it anywhere, so I created a standard BOINC PrimeGrid account just to read the message. No work. On this BOINC userid I get no task, so my credit is zero and I cannot write in the PrimeGrid message boards save on chapter with Help name. Tullio |

https://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=12041 http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=170706 To much to deal with right now, so here I could add my Seti@home credit later. One thing is that apparently Account Managers do not work any well, so out of there for now. But also that I was able to download tasks from NFS@home the last time, but do not want another batch right now. The sad thing is that apparently PrimeGrid is stuck for that of download, and not getting anything from there. No solution being found and when questioning some others, at least they are able to download. 02.08.2023 00:52:09 | PrimeGrid | URL http://www.primegrid.com/; Computer ID not assigned yet; resource share 100 02.08.2023 00:52:09 | | Setting up GUI RPC socket 02.08.2023 00:52:09 | | Checking presence of 5 project files 02.08.2023 00:52:09 | PrimeGrid | Fetching scheduler list 02.08.2023 00:52:38 | PrimeGrid | update requested by user 02.08.2023 00:52:39 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 02.08.2023 00:52:40 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. 02.08.2023 00:52:41 | PrimeGrid | Fetching scheduler list 02.08.2023 00:52:43 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 02.08.2023 00:52:45 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. That is after logging in to my main account there and set preferences for that of running tasks and not touching any other settings. Here PrimeGrid is part of BOINC as a distributed project and definitely you as well for selecting the Account Manager I could use. Any suggestions welcome, because here I could wish to continue running the tasks, and for now left with no tasks. For now I am left with no tasks in the Manager for more wishing to run the PrimeGrid tasks as mentioned. Guessing I could become old, but still remembering the names of a couple of my friends here. Also that my credit went into the Account Manager for not any personal credit instead. |

I am getting PrimeGrid tasks both of one thread and 12 threads on my Intel i5 CPU.When a 12 thread runs all other tasks are put in a waiting state but I am getting only a few tasks from my other 5 projects, both Science United and BOINC. SiDock@home disappeared from Science United. Tulllio |

Science United is not an account manager, such as you might have seen with BAM! (BOINC Account Manager https://www.boincstats.com/ ). In fact, the way Science United (SU) works is really the opposite of an account manager. When you log in to your BOINC client running on your computer with your SU account, the work that you perform will be reflected in your (temporary) SU account stats page, but you will not get public credit for it. This is because SU reports the completed work units back to all projects under a single Science United ID. So in that way, all SU users are contributing to a single shared BOINC ID. I do not think it is a good idea to attach Science United to your running BOIC client, while also logging in to your client with other project-specific accounts, or other account managers. If you are going to use Science United, you need to just accept that you will not get public credit for the work, only the stats you can see on your SU webpage dashboard after logging in. Also keep in mind that some BOINC projects themselves simply run out of work units for people to do. And yes, sometimes projects' servers go down. As far as I can tell, these servers are sometimes old and sitting in the corner of someone's office somewhere, so its understandable that some things just break and dont get fixed immediately. |
