Recently I've been getting lots of "This project seems to have changed its URL" messages for Science United-managed projects in BOINC. Right now I have a couple from Milkyway@Home and RNA World. Known issue? It doesn't seem to prevent them from getting and processing work units. Ignore like the "private message" notices? |

I'm seeing this notice from a few projects myself. I'd like to know how to even comply with it. There seems to be no way to do this in BOINC Manager. What's more, the URLs seem to be correct except they're using HTTPS:// rather than HTTP:// like referenced in the notices. Maybe that's why the data is still being sent and received correctly. |

This is probably a legacy feature that recognizes any change in the URL so that when a project changes it’s directory you can update your path to it. However, recently most web servers are set to generate warning errors when SSL is not employed. Therefore prudent webmasters opt for the SSL Certificate which appears to BOINC to be a URL change. In most cases, HTTPS is what you want, but repetitive notices are annoying and should be fixed in the APP. |

I am seeing this error on three projects; rnaworld, worldcommunitygrid, and milkyway. The project properties show they are connected to https://website not http://website as displayed in the error messages. |

I'm having the same issue. It seems that the jobs are still being sent down to my machine. tori |

Hi there, there seems to be a problem, since as a client of SU you will be implemented in SU-Network. Since u might be a Member of the original Group, like Astroids, SU shedules u as a client out. Its orienting on a different or more effient project priorisation. Itll be interesting if that even is a valid assumption of this "message" everyone is reporting. Maybe a bug? |
