It tracks the basic work done but there's no credit system and accounts are anonymous with the projects. Those on BOINC likely wouldn't be motivated to abandon their long-term standings to switch over to SU, although I have because I've stopped tracking BOINC since I do Folding@home on my computer and have just been running WCG's Smash Childhood Cancer on my Android devices.
