BOINC doesn't want to connect with Science United

My BOINC Manager doesn't let me connect to Science United. I add it as an account manager and the client says it has done so succesfully after entering my password, but I'm not connected. I can still click add account manager, and nothing has changed in any of the menus. There are also no tasks coming or anything. The event log says the following: 31/01/2022 12:38:25 | | Fetching configuration file from https://scienceunited.org/get_project_config.php But nothing happens after that. I've tried the above steps many times, without succes. I've tried a full reinstall as well, but the problem doesn't go away. Anyone have an idea what I could do? Kind regards Dag |

I also have connected to Sience United and my computer stopped connecting in 2021. How do I correct this? Wayne |

Heya, so I'm also having issues with this as I've only recently started using BOINC again. Turns out for some reason I can't connect to Science United either. I keep getting "Failed to add account manager", which after it doesn't even let me login to my Science United account. |

You should update your version of boinc, the problem should be solved, please let me know if this is the case Regards, W |

I, too, have no luck getting any work. Been connected to Worldcommunitygrid for many years. I keep getting messages from Science United about no work reported. I did not turn off my computer for years except to reboot for updates. I run openSUSE linux and have since the very beginning. |

I too am having this issue. Unfortunately there is no update to BOINC for Ubuntu. |

I get messages in my email from Boinc Admin that I haven't any work done, but I do the work but apparently it is not being received. It says I need to make sure that Boinc is Synchronized with Science United. I click on the 'Synchronize with Science United' button in the Tools menu but it always comes back saying the 'account manager failed to update'. How do I get a hold of this account manager finish the synchronization and update. This all started after I installed the new version of Boinc 7.20.2 . I use Mac OS 10.11. Would appreciate any help. |

I am restarting BOINC after a year-long hiatus. WCG is feeding Mapping Cancer Markers tasks, but I can't seem to get other projects to do anything meaningful. Notably. I can't "Synchronize with Science United", can't "Add Project". I use a VPN, but have tried disconnecting, to no avail. I see others have reported this issue ... are there any solutions yet? |

UPDATE (talking to myself) Since my previous post, BOINC Manager is seeing download attempts from Rosetta@home ... two in persistent "retry" state, and eight pending completion of those. Then today, I received an email from boinc.berkeley.edu telling me that Science United hasn't seen any reported work from my computer in the past 7 days. The only thing that's feeding me work is World Community Grid. Does WCG not report through Science United? |

After I updated my BOINC to the new 7.20.2 version, my Science United stopped working (other projects are running OK). From the "Tools" menu I clicked on "Synchronize with Science United" but no use. So I removed it by clicking on "Stop using Science United". After that I tried to add it again by clicking on "Add account manager" and then "Science United", but it came back with saying "Account manager failed to update". I downloaded the newest file 'ca-bundle.srt' and replaced the old file with it in the fold "Programme Files\BOINC". Nothing was changed and I still received "Account manager failed to update" again! Can anybody help? |

After a stop due to a hospital recovery I bought a Microsoft laptop and reconnected to Science United getting 6 projects. All run well.Some of the keys give wrong characters. To get @ I must click Shift plus a key which should give me an accented a on my Surface 5 laptop. Tullio |

I assume that Science United is no longer being maintained. I have an account, and like others here, keep getting messages telling me I haven't reported work. I keep trying to add the manager, but to no avail. Nobody else who has posted the problem has received a satisfactory reply, so unless I hear something soon, I think it's time to unsubscribe. |

As I mentioned in another thread, the solution is to update your BOINC client. BOINC 7.16 doesn't seem to be able to connect to Science United, but BOINC 7.22 does. I can confirm that I got the same problem on two of my machines, and upgrading to 7.22 resolved it. |

"Failed to add account manager" Unable to add Science United as an "Account manager" unable to do so on either of the BOINC Versions 7.18 ( Last working version) 7.20.2 7.22.2 ( currently running on) Upgrading to Newer version didn't solve the problem for me. Kindly suggest an alternative. Thank you |

hello, I also cannot connect with science united anymore. I am running on a Apple iMac M1 running Sonama. it seems to have stopped communicating just after the upgrade to Sonoma. any idea how to fix it? thanks, Roy |

I updated to 7.24.1 from 7.16.11 and it allowed me to update finally. Prior to that it said I hadn't connected since 2021 even though it was processing work. |
