Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible in the future to give an option to disabling GPU computing. I am running BOINC on a laptop and if I get workloads that are GPU plus CPU then I am afraid of overheating it. I am using Tthrottle to help reduce temperature, but the problem is that if I use that then the compute time on both CPU and GPU become very slow and thus takes longer to complete both.

Thank you

Hello vlado101,

If you 're using BOINC Manager you can go in "Advanced View", then "Activity" and then "Suspend GPU".
Hope that helps.

If i remember correctly, when you install BOINC it asks you to choose if you want to install it as a service and if you choose yes it says that you will not be assigned any GPU jobs.

The problem with "Suspend GPU" is that I still get GPU jobs; they just never start. I can abort the jobs, but more GPU jobs pop up in their place.
