Hi I saw that the first option: Low power - Use 25% of processors, and stop computing when computer is idle. Seems a bit strange...why should the CPU "stop" processing tasks when the computer is doing nothing? Surely it should "stop" when the computer is NOT idle...and only resume when it becomes idle? That would be the most obvious way to have a "Low Power" mode....otherwise, CPU is doing normal work *and* BOINC work at the SAME time (and consuming more power) and is doing nothing when PC is sitting around, twiddling its thumbs. regards Tim |

Guess it is a writing error on this website. The BOINC client has no option to stop computing when computer is idle, only when it is in use. And the website is only remote controlling BOINC client options, there is absolutely no way the website can invent a new option that is not there in BOINC client in the first place. So probably it is controlling the tick "stop computing when computer is in use" and the text on the website should precisely say that. |
