Host Merge Not Working

Reported by: ohiomike Owned by: davea
Priority: Minor Milestone: Undetermined
Component: Web - Project Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Problem merging a machine back to it's self after a crash/re-build. Cosmology, Boinc Server V 14210M. There appears to be something used other than just name, OS, and CPU. Note: Orginally was Fedora, re-built with ARCH Linux, same core, same config.

Machines:

4720 CES-Mac 2,516.76 316,035 GenuineIntel? Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5150 @ 2.66 GHz [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6] Linux 2.6.23-MacPro?.smpLL 165 16 Nov 2007 0:45:45 UTC

8596 CES-Mac 29.00 300 GenuineIntel? Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5150 @ 2.66GHz [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6] Linux 2.6.23-MacPro?.smpLL 101 16 Nov 2007 15:33:53 UTC

Msg on merge attempt:

Sometimes BOINC assigns separate identities to the same computer by mistake. You can correct this by merging old identities with the newest one.

Resolution: worksforme
Status: newclosed

Those are debugging messages (I removed them). They mean that two hosts aren't eligible for merging because they overlap in time (host A was created before host B's last RPC, and vice versa)

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
