Description (last modified by )
Hi, because scripts from www.thelazyslug.com (linked from WinDeploy?) are not working any more with new version of BOINC, Lazy doesn't respond and I am not able create own working MST file, I would like to ask for new way of installation. Is is possible just put to installation directory of BOINC some XML/TXT file with all required setting and use common way of installation in AD (instead MST files)?
I need this configuration:
- change path to C:\Program Files\Something
- define my project accounts
- installation method=service (local service,no account!!!)
- disable screensaver
- disable start boinc when user sign on
- disable start manager after setup completes
- remove boinc from program files
- remove all shortcuts
- set right to installation directory only for SYSTEM and DOMAIN ADMINs
Please think about it, because now I am not able upgrade 120 computers because MST file :( and I am sure I am not alone.
I attach my last MST file, but it is not working and I have no idea why :(
And good luck, you are doing great thing! Thanks!

This is a 6.0 milestone.
However, 5.10 ought to work with TheLazySlug?'s transforms. As a workaround (actually, as a matter of policy) I recommend installing 5.8 via Group Policy. 5.10 is nowhere near stable enough to be blindly deployed on many computers - that way leads to pain.
Don't upgrade your computers yet.

Changing milestone as suggested by Didactylos.

Adding options giving the user the ability to specify whether icons are made, what user accounts to use, and whether to even install boinc manager on a computer would all be helpful to me as well. I feel that 6.0 is taking a step backwards as far as Windows Domains go. If domain deployments were easier, I believe you'd see more businesses opting to install BOINC and donate idle cycles.

This should be available with 6.10 series. See: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Creating_custom_installers
