Version 5.8.17 (Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Linux, kernel 2.6.20)

After upgrading the boinc-client from version to 5.4.11 to 5.8.17, I keep on receiving the error message every 3 to 7 minutes: Restarting AAAA - message timeout [error] Process #### not found

where AAAA is task name and #### is process number.

Example below:

As a matter of fact, that the tasks are restarted and not resumed, all calculations take significantly longer and some of them will simply never finish.

I've been searching quite a lot of web pages and so far what I found is, that the problem occurs on 5.8.* version accross all platforms.

Should be fixed in 5.10.x.

Could you be please more specific. What was the cause of the error and what is the fix. Has anybody tested it, that the error is resolved with version 5.10.x.

I can try to download the new version and try it myself.

Why did you reopen the ticket if you haven't even tested 5.10 to see if it was actually fixed?
