Description
Novice users find it difficult to track down all the information needed for troubleshooting. Here's a solution:
Actually - I would like to have two buttons.
1) The user clicks on it and it puts critical info into memory so that they can paste it into a post. Critical info would be device id, important preferences in effect, important messages in the logs, etc. Nothing too much but enough to resolve most issues.
2) The user clicks on the second button and it creates a zip file which contains all of the key information. this would include the account files, pref files, client state, entire message log (including stderr files).

I've put this in Client - Manager but it will require core client changes, too.

Probably not work the trouble. The message log is generally not useful unless the relevant log flags are enabled.
Interesting idea, but might have problems with how to get the information to the right people.
Zip file might be bigger than what a normal email client will let through. Even more problems if the user is using a web based email account.
