boincmgr hangs sometimes if started with tab "Notices"

When I leave that GUI in the extended view state, sometimes boingcmr eats up to a 100% of a CPU core and shows only empty "Notices" when I started it again. It looks like an endless loop while waiting for new Notices. This happens since 6.12.x. No input are accepted now anything else happens even after waiting a while.

FWIW it is version 7.0.28, and BTW here is the netstat output:
