BOINC Screen Saver mode does not properly transition from Preview mode to "real" Screen Saver mode, when Screen Saver Preview is showing graphics applications

Description
I have Windows 7 x64.
When the BOINC ScreenSaver is set up for 1 minute with "On resume, display logon screen", then after 1.5 minutes of no activity, if I move the mouse/keyboard, I get the prompt for login/password. So far so good.
However, with those same settings already set, if I go to Preview mode, and wait 1.5 minutes, then if I move the mouse/keyboard, I do NOT get the prompt for login/password. Not good.
This leads me to believe that the BOINC ScreenSaver is not properly handling the transition from Preview mode to "real" ScreenSaver mode.
The reason I say this is because if I do the same tests with the Blank ScreenSaver, I will get the prompt for login/password.
This could actually pose a security risk, since a user may click Preview, walk away, and still expect and rely on that "On resume, display logon screen" setting, even though someone else could walk up hours later and not be prompted for login/password.

Interestingly enough, I can't reproduce this on my x86 Win 7 dual-processor-without-hyperthreading laptop. Yet, it is easily reproducible on my x64 Win 7 quad-processor-with-hyperthreading. Hope this helps track it down somehow :)

Further testing shows that, when the ScreenSaver settings are to not show project applications, the transition from Preview to "Real" does occur as expected, and after 1.5 minutes, I will get the prompt for login/password.
However, if the ScreenSaver settings are showing project applications, the transition from Preview to "Real" does not occur. I see "Unspecified error" briefly flash in between graphics application switches, and even if I wait 4 minutes, when I use the mouse/keyboard, I do *not* get the prompt for login/password.
So, this bug may have something to do with ScreenSaver graphics application switching.
