#67 | duplicate | Feature request: add PORT specification to Select computer... | ||
Description |
Posted by: Date: 4:50 AM 06-02-2006 It might be attractive to allow the Select Computer... dialog on Boinc Manager to specify the port number as well as the domain name of a remote boinc daemon. This would help facilitate ssh tunneling. It could be easily achieved by simply allowing specification like "domain:port" eg localhost:31416. The programming required to handle this looks like it would be minimal. Such functionality is available for windows users via BoincView?, but no similar facility is available natively on other platforms, to my knowledge. Posted by: Date: 4:53 AM 06-02-2006 Just a thought - it would help backwards compatibility with the previous boinc versions which used a different port no. |
