Stardance, you missed the point... Keeping the project directories means you haven't completely removed BOINC.

    70 Select Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. Select BOINC, then click Remove. This removes the BOINC software only, your workunits in progress aren't deleted. To completely remove BOINC, first move the contents of any and all project subdirectories (usually in C:\Program Files\BOINC\projects) to other locations, then delete the BOINC directory (usually C:\Program Files\BOINC).
