    167167XCode 2.4.1 installs autoconf 2.59 and automake 1.6.3. XCode 3.0 installs autoconf 2.61 and automake 1.10. To determine the version number, type autoconf --version or automake --version.  If you installed a later version of either or both, they will be in the '/usr/local/bin/' directory.  This line ensures that the system will look there first.
