  • Ticket #834 – Description

    initial v3
1 When I leave Boinc running overnight, I often have a kernal panic in the morning.
    2
3 Active projects are: SETI & Einstein.
1[1] Does the problem go away if you suspend BOINC and leave the computer running overnight?
2[2] If the answer to [1] is no, then does it happen if you completely quit BOINC and leave the computer running overnight?
3[3] If the answer to [1] is yes, your computer may be overheating; try reducing the value of "Use at most xx% of CPU time."   You can do this either locally (Advanced menu, Preferences, Processor Usage tab, at the bottom of the window) or globally in your web-based "Computing Preferences" for any connected project.  If you do it on the web, remember to update your project from BOINC Manager's Projects tab.
