GPU computing on AMD v1605b SoC?
(Message 862)
Posted 16 Oct 2021 by kwisatzjim Post: update 2: Since there are AMD drivers for Windows 10 as well, I decided to see if Windows 10 did better at GPU computing than Ubuntu. I installed Windows, the AMD drivers, and BOINC with VirtualBox. That did the trick! GPU computing underway now |

Posted 16 Oct 2021 by kwisatzjim Post: Update: I found AMD drivers for the v1000 series but found they are only for Ubuntu 20.04. So I installed that then the driver. Still no gpu computing in BOINC |

GPU computing on AMD v1605b SoC?
(Message 857)
Posted 14 Oct 2021 by kwisatzjim Post: Hi, I got an Udoo Bolt v8, which has an AMD v1605b SoC with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. I installed Pop_OS 21.04 and BOINC from package repository and was hoping it would do GPU computing since it does have Radeon Vega 8 graphics and does support OpenCL per AMDs website, but GPU computing is not showing up as available. Is there something I can do to get GPU computing working? thanks! |
