1) Message boards : Problems : Boinc on Mint Linux (Message 576)

Download the latest version from from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

Open up a terminal and then cd to the directory you downloaded the file.

 chmod +x boinc_7.x

Then
 sudo ./boinc_7.x.sh

This should install the latest version of boinc on your system.

The reason you are getting that message is because you are not using the latest version and whoever maintains the package has not updated it for one reason or another.

You can either install it manually or you can wait until they update the package

On the site here you can choose your computing areas. You can change an area to 'Never' but you do not have the ability to turn off work units by project. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is by design to help keep it as simple as possible. If you want more granularity you will want to look into another manager.

My boinc client has downloaded some work for climateprediction.net and it is taking up around 8GB of space. Is there a way to have Science United put more of a preference on these work units? Would turning down the task switching time have any effect?

These tasks have been sitting at about 3 days of run time for the past couple of weeks with no change in their work status.

Thank you!

From what I know most Boinc projects are tailored towards Nvidia cards. I don't have any AMD cards ATM to help you troubleshoot.
