Hi, when I read this https://scienceunited.org/intro.php I felt totally identified with what you said, and I immediately wanted to shift to your project, then I realized something... Will be a gridteam here? I mean is there a reward? I started boinc just because I wanted to help, but for us, the people of the third world, to earn something makes also a good motivation. And also becomes a way to maybe get unreachable technology (pc hardware)

Currently you can't use Gridcoin from Science United.
In theory this is possible, but I'd need to work with the Gridcoin people on it.

David,

Ravon and I are both core developers and ops for Gridcoin. He is the technical lead for the project. I have been heavily involved and am finishing up rewriting our statistics collection process to drastically reduce the load of Gridcoin stats collection on the project servers, among other things.

We are currently renovating much of Gridcoin's underpinnings, including the signup and validation process to improve security and make it easier for folks. (See cm's PR for BOINC https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/pull/2965).

We think it would be very motivating for science crunchers to have the opportunity to participate in Gridcoin if they so desire, and this could lead to increased participation in BOINC for the benefit of science.

Let us know how you would like to discuss.

Best regards,

Jim

P.S. I am a long time BOINC contributor...

It would be nice if Science United Users had two Pools to choose from

  • Pool that invest nothing back into SU.
  • Pool that invest 20-100% back into SU. (Would really like this one where I can choose how much I want to throw into SU)
